When
I have time, I enjoy: learning
about the universe. When I'm not learning about the universe, I'm
making something crafty or reading a book, usually about forensic science
my first love. When I was a little girl, I wanted to be the female
version of Quincy when I grew up. That really dates me. I still
think I'd like to be that female Quincy if I ever grow up.
Other
iVillage areas you can find me: I
am also cl of the Yoga board. I visit the Anti-Diet board frequently. |

Favorite
ways of keeping fit (form of exercise, eating plan, etc.):
I enjoy Jazzercise, bike riding, walking, yoga, Pilates and Tae-Bo. That
seems like a long list, but it keeps things interesting. I’m always on
the lookout for something new and different to keep myself motivated and
moving.
Has
fitness/healthy living always been a part of your life? Give a little
background: My personal
journey to fitness started after I finally graduated from college in the
spring of 2000. I got my graduation pictures back and I was shocked and
dismayed to see how round and pudgy my face looked under that mortarboard
cap. After spending a few months surfing around, I came upon iVillage and
took part in many of the weight loss boards. I tried all the pills and
plans. I even tried some of the crazy exercise programs, but nothing really
worked. Then I stumbled across what used to be called the Fit Over Forty
message board and it made a difference. |

When
did you start posting here, and what keeps you coming back? I
found this board in late 2000 or early 2001. I hadn't hit 40 yet,
but the ladies welcomed me with open arms and I haven’t left my FOF home
since. It has taken a long time, but I have finally begun to come to terms
with myself and my body with the help of everyone on FOF. With their
encouragement, I’ve been able to make exercise a regular part of my life. |
