When I have time, I enjoy:  Cooking, gardening, reading, programming. My husband and I speak at geek conferences and we even wrote a book together. I'm working on getting back in to college to get my bachelor degree.
Favorite ways of keeping fit (form of exercise, eating plan, etc.):  Weight training, bicycling, I also do misc aerobics (varies).  Eating: I focus on portion control. There are no bad foods, just bad portion sizes.

Has fitness/healthy living always been a part of your life?  Give a little background:  No - I was the stereotypical 98-pound weakling for most of my life: a serious bookworm. I did the bare minimum to get through the Army Reserves training, and then quit any exercise until my late 30s. I gained weight after two kids (was up to 160) and my asthma really started kicking up, so I decided I could either lay down and give up, or get going and get in shape. I lost 30 pounds and am in better shape and living healthier than ever.

When did you start posting here, and what keeps you coming back?  I started posting when I was 39 and just love the ladies here. I love the feeling of support and acceptance - we're all just trying to be healthy - and I appreciate the lack of fads or scams. I got to meet several of these wonderful ladies in Asheville - and it was great!
